5 WAYS TO HAVE A BETTER START TO YOUR MORNING
Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and lifted him up and said, “What little faith you have! Why would you let doubt win?”
Matthew 15:28 TPT
Just as Jesus asked “why would you let doubt win”, don’t doubt your ability to be able to have a great morning. Often times, the things that we struggle with can be in direct relation to other things we may be challenged with in life. For instance, you may not be happy with your current occupation, which can cause you to not have a great morning.
One thing that we can always change to have a better morning and may have to reset often, is our mindset. You can start to change this by thinking about what really motivates you. What really lifts your spirits when you think about it? Whatever that may be, always keep that in mind and think about it throughout the day to keep you motivated. Still not convinced a changed mindset will help you have a better morning? Here are 5 other ways that you can experience to have a great morning:
Make time in the morning for prayer and meditation. During this time it’s crucial to make sure that you are in a designated area where you can be alone and not disturbed. Use this space to pray for the things that you know you need throughout the day like patience, peace, focus etc. You can also meditate on your favorite scripture, a devotional or concept that you have been studying and ask God for revelation about whatever you are meditating on.
Create positive affirmations for yourself! Write these affirmations down and say them in the mirror. Not having time is not an excuse, these affirmations can be repeated anywhere. I personally keep affirmations written down in my mirror and in my car! Some of my favorite affirmations are
“I am destined for greatness!”
“Today will be a great day!”
“I am the best at what I do!”
3.A workout in the morning can also be the boost that you need to get you going. A short and powerful workout whether it is 15 or 30 minutes will get your blood flowing, adrenaline working and can lead to a productive day plus more. Lucky for us you don’t need a gym, just a small workout space and a portable device. Youtube and instagram are filled with influencers that post short clips and videos that you can do from the comfort of your own home.
4.The saying “You are what you eat,” can’t get anymore real! Start your morning off with good fuel for your body! Everyone has different tastes and lifestyles but there are no limits to healthy options for breakfast. If you’re looking for something quick and hearty, steel cut oats with fruit are one of my favorites. Another favorite of mine are smoothies, they are also quick, easy, refreshing, good after a morning workout and can be paired with whole wheat toast, eggs and other protein for a more complete breakfast.
5.Time management is crucial in all areas of our life, one of the most important times may be in the morning when we are getting our day started. Make sure that you make use of the convenience of alarms to keep you on schedule. Leaving on time for wherever it is that you may need to be can eliminate the chances of you rushing to do things and forgetting things that are important. When your morning runs smoothly, so are the chances of your day.
Having a great morning is possible and can be achieved by anyone who has a made up mind that they can and they will!
