Best Trade Ever

Following Jesus requires complete surrender. One must completely give up their own will and subject their thoughts, ideas, and deeds to His will for their life. Most people don’t like the idea of surrendering because it means they’re no longer in charge.

Life without Jesus is like being stuck in quicksand. Each day you’re going deeper into it and the only way out is Jesus. He reaches His hand out to free you from the quicksand but it’s up to you to grab hold of it. The day I surrendered to Jesus was the day I began to live because there’s no life outside of Him. (Psalm 40:2- He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set my feet on a hard, firm path, and steadied me as I walked along.)

”Sometimes you have to let go of the life you pictured, in order to have the life God planned for you.” God knows what’s best for you and has your best interest at heart. We think we know what’s best for us, so we navigate through life making decisions based on what feels right at the time. God had a plan for your life before you were born and they’re plans to prosper you. (Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.) God’s plans for you aren’t only good but they’re better than you can imagine. (Ephesians 3:20- Now glory be to God, who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.) He has more in store for you than you have for yourself.

Surrendering my own will to follow God’s will for my life is the best trade I’ve ever made. (Romans 10:11- For the Scriptures tell us that no one who believes in Christ will ever be disappointed.) Surrender your life to follow Jesus and you’ll begin to experience the abundant life He has for you to live.
