Decisions: Following God's lead big and small
The world can be noisy. With so many distractions it is easy to get sidetracked. Time is one of the most valuable assets we have. It is the one thing that you cannot get back. Having the ability to make the right decisions is a game changer. In fact, you are one decision away from living the life that you want or simply settling.
By making an official internal decision to follow God’s lead in your life, you will be able to receive better results. In order to follow God’s lead, one must first make the decision to take action. Obedience is key to this relationship. Wisdom is knowing how and when to do so. Nonetheless, when God has called you to a thing, it won’t always look like what is popular. God’s way is the best way even when it seems like it isn’t. Below are a few tools that will help you submit to the voice of the Holy Spirit within.
Don’t worry about it, pray about it
I used to try to figure everything out. That is when I began to realize that I was not in control of the bigger picture. When you make the decision to partner with God regarding your personal decisions, you are setting yourself up for the win. The enemy knows that God’s plan is greater. That is why he fights people so hard. He is trying to make you forget who you are. In the Garden, when Adam and Eve were tempted, it was based on their perception. Instead of choosing to partner with God, they chose to go the other route. When you pray about your problems you are setting yourself in agreement with heaven. Prayer is about a relationship. Remember to make time for intimacy with God. Cast your care on to Him. But, don’t leave that space carrying the same burdens. God cares about what you are going through. Make time to have a heart to heart with Him as you release everything that is beyond your control in this season. And when you get up to go about your day, leave your cares right where you cast them.
Saying yes to God’s plan for your life could mean letting go. Sometimes in order to go to the next level, one must release everything that is not needed along the journey. For example, when Jesus went to the cross he had to go alone. There was a falling away in the garden when his disciples failed to pray with him. There will be seasons in your life when you must begin to walk alone. This is perfectly fine. Quiet time with the Lord could be the very thing that you need. As you draw closer to where God is taking you in this season make room in your life for what He has indeed called you to.
Confirmation is Key
If God is leading you, there will always be confirmation in what you are hearing. In order to follow God, one must have a certain level of discernment. The bible says in Romans 10:17 that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. That means that as you prepare to follow God, his word should be your gage.
Making the decision to obey God for your life is not always easy. There will be times when you feel like you are going against the grain. Just know, that as long as you are doing what God said and you are in His will, you have nothing to worry about. Follow his instruction without wavering and watch God work it out for your good. According to Psalm 25:3 those who put their trust in the Lord will never be put to shame. This means, that as long as you fully trust in what He is saying to you, everything else will fall into place. You are one decision away from a different life, so follow God’s lead for the best of life.
