Don’t Let It Stress You
It’s so easy to let things get to you. Have you ever seen those people that don’t sweat under circumstances? They’re just cool as a fan. Everyone else is screaming like chickens with their heads off and they're just drinking a cool glass of lemonade. Well, that’s not me. I’m actually the screaming chicken!
However, I’ve learned over the years how much that does not work and how to turn my screams into actual production. So as I found myself getting tested last week to slip back into my progressively oldish ways, I wanted to encourage those of you who would prefer to be leaning on the counter drinking lemonade in the chaos.
1. Organize and Plan: keeping yourself organized helps your thoughts be organized which helps all other things be categorized. Thus, when problems arise, you have your t’s crossed and i’s dotted leaving less room to stress. Even when things happen at the last minute, you've already thought things through and have resources for it.
2. Say “no”: it’s okay to say no if you have too much on your plate. Don't give your time to something that will more stress. And don’t fall into the guilt trip games. Bosses don’t have time for that. That person can find someone else with time, cause you don't have it.
3. Get HELP: it was hard for me to trust other people to do things the way I expected. But I had to learn to relinquish my grip. Other people are very talented and able to do tasks to help. I don’t always have to play Wonder Woman full of strength. Share the load. More people don’t mind helping than you think if you would simply ask.
4. Trust God: can you actually physically fix it? If no, then let it go! Give it to God. Do your part and just trust the rest. It’s above you now! Like for real. No, it’s literally above you.
Ladies, when all else fails, keep a smile on your face. It WILL work out. Not always how we imagined, but things will calm down. Take a deep breath and think it through. Take it one day at a time and keep getting better in each area. You’ll be bossing up in the midst of a storm in no time.
What are some other things you do to keep yourself cool and at peace?
Keep your crown up,
