Hey Bosses, how you hanging in there?
This week started out tough with the passing of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and 7 other beautiful lives gone too soon. They were all on a helicopter that crashed Sunday morning. Our prayers go out to all whose loved ones were on board.
Because Kobe Bryant had such an impact on the world, the weight of his passing could be felt all around. In times like this if we aren’t careful, we can have a tendency to sweep how we feel under the rug. Sometimes because people are depending on us in our careers, as moms, as leaders, in our different boss roles we don’t always take the time to really feel what we need to feel in these moments. But it’s important for your own personal self-care that you do.
Don’t be afraid to acknowledge and feel and go through your emotions. Whether it’s emphatic feelings for the Bryant family or something else you are experiencing. Whatever those feelings come out as do not fight them back. Just feel it and be honest with yourself. It could be anger, sadness, confusion, and so on. Whatever it is, just feel it. Get it out of your system and go through that thing. Don’t be afraid of being vulnerable in those trying times you face. This is normal. Grief is a process. Just take it one day at a time. It doesn’t matter if you know someone personally or not. You are a human being and you have the capability to have compassion for a precious life gone too soon.
I’m praying for you bosses, no matter what storm you may be facing. I hope that you stay encouraged on your journey. May nothing distract you but only motivate you to go even harder to accomplish what God has called you to do.
Keep your crown up,
