OVERCOMING ANXIETY

Anxiety can come in many forms. Social media has changed the way that people view themselves making it is easy to get caught up in the comparison game. Because of this society has changed over the years. Spending a lot of time roaming social media can cause anxiety. Certain positions, like being a CEO, come with many obstacles as well. The good news is that you don’t have to be controlled by your anxious thoughts. Below are some tools to help you overcome so that you can secure the bag.

 

Acknowledge

Sometimes the most difficult thing to do is to acknowledge the problem. We live in a society that places a stigma on issues that are related to mental health. Quiet as it’s kept, people who suffer from mental ailments are treated differently. Mental illness is no different from diabetes or high blood pressure. It is a disease that needs to be treated. In order to begin the treatment process, one must first acknowledge that there is an issue. This is a small yet very powerful step.

Self Care

Women often times take on many roles. Sometimes it is easy to prioritize everyone else’s needs above your own. Entrepreneurs often times have to find balance between family life, and work life. Finding time to meet the needs of clients and one’s own relationships can be a real challenge.  In order to maintain clarity self-care is necessary. Take time to pamper yourself. Get a manicure or a new hairstyle. You can even treat yourself to a movie or a dinner. You may be surprised to see how much better you feel when you take some time out for yourself.

Prayer and Meditation

The road to the bag is very interesting. Some days you may feel like you can take over the world. However, other times you may feel like you want to give up. Prayer and meditation can help you find the clarity that you need in order to achieve your goals. In order to be successful you have to be strong from the inside out. Let’s face it; sometimes the answers that you are seeking lie within.

Rock out

Music has been known to help people relax for centuries. When you feel yourself worrying too much turn on your favorite tunes. Listening to your favorite music can help you take your mind off of the things that you are worrying about. It can also help your creative juices flow.

Ask for help

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Outsource tasks that can be handled by someone else. Part of being a leader is having the ability to communicate your vision with others. Delegate responsibilities that aren’t necessary for you to do. You don’t have to do everything. You can increase your productivity by giving other people the opportunity to shine. For example, if you know someone that is good at creating graphics, you may want to hire a designer so that you can focus on other things.  Asking for help can also mean seeking out a professional counselor. If you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed, there are people that have been professionally trained to help you work out your issues. Going to a counselor is not a bad thing.

These are all creative ways to combat anxiety. If you are suffering with anxiety, or know someone who is, please seek out help. There are many professionals that are waiting to serve you. Talking to someone about your anxiousness can help you get to the freedom you desire. Mental illness is real. There are a ton of resources out there that have been designed to help.
