The holidays are here and there’s cheer in the air!
At least there should be. I want to encourage you all to have a fabulous holiday season. But it’s going to take you being intentional and making intentional decisions. As bosses we can get caught in the hustle and bustle of day to day life. Now, you gotta do what you gotta do, but don’t be so overwhelmed in your work and repping “boss life” that you don’t take time to acknowledge the little things that matter even more in this season.
Take time to spend with your family. Put your phone down, the text can wait, and the DMs will still be there, but your babies won’t always be that age. Your older aunts and uncles won’t always be around. Take time to be present with your family and fully engaged with friends. Enjoy a simple thing called company and quality time. These are moments you can’t get back. Better than photos living on Instagram is living in the moment of a loving family being impressed in your heart. Don’t be so busy video recording that you don’t witness the moment with your own eyes.
And for those of you who may be missing a vital part of your holidays, don’t think of it as being hard. Change your mindset and say it will be different, but you will make it. Take it one day at a time. Surround yourself with those that are encouraging. And most importantly, celebrate! Celebrate the way that you would have if they were still around, because that’s what they would have wanted, to see that smile on your face.
Don’t dread the holidays. And don’t be so busy that you just plow through to your vision marketing of 2020. Really take time to enjoy this day, this time, this season, this year so you can say “I was there”.
Share your plans with us below bosses! Oh, and happy holidays!
