You Will Make It

1 Peter 4:12- Dear friends, don’t be bewildered or surprised when you go through the fiery trials ahead, for this is no strange, unusual thing that is going to happen to you.

We all go through things in life. There are ups and downs. But I would like for this verse above to be some encouragement to you. Instead of asking “why is this happening to me?” ask yourself “When has God not worked it out for my good?” No matter what you go through God is there to comfort and encourage you. He’s been your help before and He won’t stop now. He will get the glory out of your trial and you’ll have another testimony to share about His faithfulness.

God will never allow you to go through something alone, He will always be there to comfort you. (2 Corinthians 1:4- He always comes alongside us to comfort us in every suffering so that we can come alongside those who are in any painful trial. We can bring them this same comfort that God has poured out upon us.)  The same comfort God gives to you should be shared in return with those in need. Tell them how God helped you in your distress and let them know that He’ll help them too.

Reading about the apostle Paul’s life is encouraging. He was beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked, stoned, faced death, etc., but he never allowed his hardships to keep him from encouraging others. Many of the epistles he wrote were written while he was in prison. Even in chains he still wanted to make sure his readers were encouraged. (Philippians 1:14- And what I’m going through has actually caused many believers to become even more courageous in the Lord and to be bold and passionate to preach the Word of God, all because of my chains.)  Despite his circumstances, he cheered up those who were discouraged and let them know they’d get through whatever they were facing just like he did.

Whatever hardship you’re facing, know that you aren’t alone. It may feel that way at the time but there are many people going through the same thing and many that have overcome. Be thankful for the trials God has allowed you to go through because you can encourage others when they go through the same thing. Your deliverance will cause people to give thanks to God. When they see what He’s done for you it will encourage them that He’ll do the same for them. Share your testimony and pass on the encouragement. Your story could be the key to someone’s breakthrough.
